A reply from Anna ...

Bismi'llah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim...for the sake of Prophet Muhammad saws and Sheikh Nazim may Allah protect his secret.

A reply from Annabanana of Blog Ladder.

grego,
jenny just told be that you have been blocked from BL, and i'm just appalled. ramandu's right, it's just stupid that political ranting or personal whining are somehow supposed to be more interesting or valid than a soul's quest. i said as much on the ladder, but now i notice that the announcement that religious content will be filtered is gone completely. at first i thought that this meant GB had had a change of heart, finally, but, when i asked jenny if she knew anything about it, she said you had been given the boot, which, i guess, doesn't bode well as far as GB's enlightenment is concerned.how very sad.i think he is making a terrible error in judgement.

hi grego, it's after one a.m. (and i am *not* a night owl) so this will be short, but i would try logging on to BL again, if you're interested.

if it all goes smoothly, i'd advise against commenting on this most recent censorship silliness, as that might be pushing it.

lots of people miss you there, and when i asked GB why the filtering announcement is gone, he said he was sick of the whole thing, so i asked if that meant he was sick of censoring, or sick of talking about it, and he said, cryptically, "yes."

so i asked, then, if it would be ok to tell jenny and grego and ramandu that they can come back (although i noticed after that that ramandu hadn't actually left), and he replied, "i guess so."

so, um, there you go. it's not exactly a red carpet rolled out at your feet, and he still might be sensitive and squeemish about the whole thing, but you might not be blocked any more.

Hehe, hey there Grego. Happy New Year!

Nice to have been reading and writing with you in 2005. I hope 2006 is as gentle to your search as possible.

If you check BlogLadder again, you will see that another has been censored. He is Clovis, and he posted some pretty negative words about Muslims. I didn't agree with him, but that is no reason to cut him from the blogsite. Greedy Bull has not answered my question on why he was censored. Seems, now that I've found this website with the comments about Grego, who posted before I started reading BL, that it is a not so uncommon experience on BL.

By the way, for those who haven't searched it out, the owner of Blogladder, from WhoIs directory, is listed in this last post from Clovis, who got into BL one last time using another name.

Here is Clovis' comment:

Greetings from Clovis. (Clovis is an Idot)

Well it's good to see that censorship is alive and well here at Blog Ladder. Guess Islam is off topic.

The last post I made in this blog was deleted in less than an hour and of course I can no longer login. No problem, just sign up for a new account and repost. Yup, you guessed it. Post and blog deleted. Ok, one more try just to post a comment here. Blip! comment and blog gone again in minutes. Ok, changed my IP and signed up again just to post this.

I sent an email to the contact address and recieved no reply.

The terms and rules are:
1. You can post *any content* except content of or relating to unlawful or pornographic material.
2. All site content expresses the views of the author and not the owners of blogladder.com. The owners of blogladder.com are not responsible for the site content.

Looks like Ry Ferguson of Laguna Beach, California, US (registered owner of blogladder.com) doesn't even go by his own terms and rules.

At least I got a good thread going.

Oh well, I'm off to a censorship free part of the WWW.

Cheers

Ahh, well, now I have been blocked. Here are the details for GB, from a copy of an email response GB made to me early on when I asked him about the blogladder site. Also, Google "Sy Ferguson" to see his own website, and other pertinent data.

hi,

thanks for being interested in blog ladder. blog ladder is a one man show.
i am a 25 year old male and hold a computer science degree. i live in
southern california.

i formed blog ladder for no specific reasons. i came up with the idea
one night and spent the next several months bringing it to life.

i plan on adding to and upgrading the site as often as possible. making
money via blog ladder is one goal, but i'm in no hurry to monotize.

i spend roughly $300/month on advertising and hosting.

best,
blog ladder

I read through all the FAQ's and no mention of who pays for blogladder;
the disk space, the servers, the time of the people running it, maintaining the software, etc. There seems to be no advertising.

Also, there are no formal names of the staff? No titles either? We are dealing with anon people? Perhaps thats just as well, since we all
are anon.

Why was blogladder formed, by who [even if you can only respond in general terms] and what is the projected future? What are the staff/owners goals? Please tell me more than you just a bunch of nice people, that do this for fun and learning experiences. Thats
possible, maybe probable, but there is always more, too.
